Technical Assistance/ Capacity Building
CSP’s technical assistance/capacity building component complements the program’s community support, workforce development, and wastewater management activities by ensuring that recipients of assistance possess the know-how, skills, and tools to maximize the impact and sustainability of USAID investments.
CSP profiles municipalities, civil society organizations (CSOs), and other local actors to identify organizational and technical gaps that may limit the delivery of essential services to the community and reduce economic opportunities. CSP then designs and delivers a range of customized on-the-job trainings and other assistance in partnership with relevant Lebanese CSOs, private sector entities, think tanks, universities, and research institutions.
Technical assistance/capacity building activities range from market linkage trainings for agricultural and business cooperatives (COOPs) to fire-hazard and emergency evacuation trainings for staff in schools that received equipment and infrastructure upgrades under CSP’s community support component.
Areas of capacity building support include wastewater management, economic growth, science, technology and innovation, safety and security, energy conservation, and gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Technical Support to Olive Farmers in Akroum
CSP is improving the capacity of the Akroum Olive Farmers Cooperative (COOP) to maintain and operate the generator and the olive oil-water separator provided by CSP, and strengthen its financial management capabilities to ensure long-term sustainability

Technical Support to Al Mourabia Marzouka Al Mouzakzek Public School for Girls in Bebnine
CSP is enhancing the capacity of the administrative and teaching staff at Al Mourabia Marzouka Al Mouzakzek Public School for Girls in Bebnine to promote the proper maintenance of the school’s infrastructure and premises, as well as safety and water conservation standards.

Technical Support to Olive Farmers in Barghoun and Badhoum
CSP is improving the capacity of the Haq Development Movement NGO in Barghoun and Badbhoun to operate, schedule, and maintain the olive mehcanical harvesters provided by CSP and provide technical assistance to enhance transparency in its bookkeeping.

CSP is building the capacity of the Jdaidet el Qaitaa Women’s Cooperative members in business planning, food processing, and bookkeeping.

CSP improved the capacity of the El Khiara Municipality to safely maintain solar-powered lightbulbs and enhanced its social media skills for increased engagement with community members.

CSP is improving the capacity of the administrative and teaching staff at Al Salam Public School in Bebnine to sustain maintenance of the school’s premises, prevent violence and promote safety on campus.

Technical Support to the Cooperative of Olive Farmers in Tanbourit and Tanbourit Municipality
CSP improved the capacity of the Tanbourit Olive Farmers’ Cooperative (COOP) to operate, schedule the use of, and maintain the mechanical olive harvesters provided by CSP, and enhanced the municipality’s social media skills to increase the COOP’s visibility.

CSP is improving the capacity of the Tannoura Municipality to maintain and operate the generator provided by CSP and strengthen its financial management capabilities to enhance transparency.
