CSP Launches Second Cohort of Homebased Health Care Vocational Training at LRC Saida
Following the completion of a first cohort of Homebased Healthcare (HHC) vocational students at three LRC branches, on November 14, 2022, USAID’s Community Support Program (CSP) successfully launched a second cohort of HHC students at LRC Saida. The new cohort of HHC students includes 28 students who are all benefitting from USAID’s JET scholarship. To kick off the new cohort, CSP delivered an orientation session to the students and elaborated on the different components of the JET scholarship such as tuition coverage, monthly stipend payments, medical insurance, and internship placements.
Since its inception in 2019, CSP’s workforce development component has launched eleven vocational training cohorts in HHC, Repair and Maintenance of Industrial Machinery, and IT, which were attended by a total of 231 JET scholarship recipients. With an overall target of awarding 484 vocational scholarships, CSP will launch two additional HHC vocational trainings, one in Baabda (21 students) and another in Tripoli (35 students), in addition to one Repair and Maintenance of Industrial Machinery vocational training course in Bedaoui, North (55 students), and one Full Stack Web Development training course in Mina, Tripoli (43 students). Finally, a third HHC cohort will equally be implemented during the upcoming year 2023.
“As a mother of three, I am hoping that this course will provide me with the necessary skills and opportunities to support my family,” stated Nawal Mustapha Al Danab, JET scholarship recipient undertaking the HHC vocational course at LRC Saida.
