CSP Steps Up its Institutional Technical Assistance to Lebanese Technical and Vocational Education Centers
The workforce development component of USAID’s Community Support Program (CSP) is designed to improve employability skills and expand job opportunities for some 1000 Lebanese individuals. To this end, CSP is working with thirteen private Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centers in Lebanon entities to improve their curricula and provide them with equipment and job placement services while offering scholarships to vocational education students. In parallel, CSP’s technical assistance team is building the institutional capacity of the benefitting vocational training centers to improve their effectiveness and management systems. In December 2022, CSP trained eight TVETs on financial management and strategic planning and started developing customized financial policies and procedures for three TVETs. The eight TVETs that benefitted from CSP’s training in December 2022 are: St. Elie Technical Institute, Foyer de la Providence, Abou Bakr El Sidiq Institute, Don Bosco Institute, Cortbawi Center, Tamkin, Al Sharq Institute, and Al Abir Institute.
“The policies that we are developing with USAID/CSP will enhance our services and help us improve our financial management processes,” said Roula Al-Abed, accountant at St. Elie Technical Institute.
