CSP Launches Second Cohort of Homebased Healthcare Vocational Course at the Lebanese Red Cross Nursing Institute in Tripoli
On January 13, 2023, USAID’s Community Support Program (CSP) launched the second cohort of the Homebased Healthcare (HHC) vocational training course at the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) Nursing Institute in Tripoli. The course will run over a period of three months followed by a one-month internship to further enhance students’ professional skills. Accordingly, the 34 students included in the cohort will each benefit from CSP’s JET scholarship program which covers their tuition and provides them with a monthly stipend covering their transportation costs. In addition, scholarship recipients receive medical insurance for the duration of the course and subsequent internship. In turn, students are expected to complete their studies and mandatory internship, in addition to attending soft skills training to enhance their chances at finding quality employment. This represents the second HHC course offered by CSP at the three partner LRC TVETs (Tripoli, Saida and Baabda), which has benefitted a total of 144 students. CSP is also planning to launch a third cohort by March 2023.
“I applied to this course to gain more experience in this field and increase my chances for employment in the job market. This training and certificate will give me an advantage over other job seekers,” said Fatima Harmouch, JET scholarship recipient undertaking the HHC vocational course at LRC Tripoli.
