Just days after the devastating explosion at the Beirut Port on August 4, 2020, USAID’s Community Support Program launched an emergency response activity to support the clearing of rubble and debris from the most heavily impacted neighborhoods of east Beirut. The activity is helping to kick-start the neighborhoods’ rehabilitation, while also providing work opportunities to residents who are now struggling with not only the country’s economic crisis but also how to move forward in the aftermath of the explosion.
