In its emergency response efforts, CSP installed up to 500 LED lightbulbs with galvanized arms to replace the destroyed/ damaged sodium lights following the aftermath of the Beirut Port blast on August 4, 2020. The installed LED lights lower energy consumption by 60% and have a 5-time longer lifespan than the sodium lights; this reduces light pollution, as well as maintenance and replacement costs on the Beirut Municipality.
