CSP Launches Second Cohort of Homebased Healthcare Vocational Course at LRC Baabda

On December 9, 2022, USAID’s Community Support Program (CSP) conducted an orientation session at the Lebanese Red Cross Faculty of Nursing in Baabda (LRC Baabda) to 21 students to launch a second cohort of CSP’s improved Homebased Healthcare (HHC) vocational training course at this TVET. All 21 students of the cohort are benefitting from CSP’s scholarship which will cover their tuition, provide them with a monthly stipend covering transportation, and medical insurance for the duration of the three-month course and subsequent internship. In turn, students are expected to complete their studies and mandatory internship, in addition to attending soft skills training modules to enhance their chances at finding quality employment. Since its inception in 2019, the CSP workforce development component launched 12 vocational training cohorts in HHC, Repair and Maintenance of Industrial Machinery, and IT, which were attended by 405 scholarship recipients so far.

“This scholarship is really helping me during these challenging times, especially as I was unemployed. I believe this training will open many doors and opportunities for me and will hopefully enable me to financially take care of myself and my family,” stated Ghada Fawaz, HHC student and scholarship recipient at LRC Baabda.
