USAID CSP Trains Notre Dame University to Effectively Manage USAID Grants
Under the USAID-funded Community Support Program (CSP) in December 2024, Notre dame University (NDU) signed a sub-grant to expand its courses to offer students and local community members at large municipal and NGO training programs on good governance and a diploma in municipal studies. On December 4, 2024, NDU received training from CSP on “USAID Grant Implementation: Policies & Regulations” whereby 28 NDU staff members from various departments (procurement, human resources, administration, finance, and student employment) learned more about best management practices and USAID’s rules and regulations. This training enhances NDU’s institutional capacity in managing USAID programs and covers important topics such as grants, contracts, due diligence, time sheets, procurement, monitoring and evaluation, communication, and branding. This is one of a dozen training sessions planned by CSP for NDU in
parallel with helping them develop their municipal and NGO training program. “This training was invaluable. It deepened my understanding of compliance, procurement, and screening processes. Even as someone familiar with USAID financial procedures in general, I gained new insights,” noted Pierre Abi Warde, NDU’s Director of Finance.
