USAID’s Community Support Program-CSP Equips Saidoun Agricultural Cooperative for Success
The cluster of agricultural villages in Saidoun, South Lebanon, includes five towns that are home to 3,000 residents. As a significant number of the cluster’s population are farmers, the Saidoun local cooperative supports all five towns through initiatives such as distributing seedlings and facilitating irrigation. USAID’s Community Support Program (CSP) in Lebanon provided the Saidoun agricultural cooperative with equipment to reduce costs and enhance harvesting techniques. This assistance supporting around 120 farmer households includes the provision of 5 rotary cultivators, 2 trailers, 9 mechanical pruning shears, 6 mechanical olive harvesters, and other needed material such as harvesting nets and crates.
